Quaint
16 hand dark bay gelding,
2012 By Street Sense out of Spread (by Coronado's Quest)
This pretty boy has been used to rope calves at brandings, gather/sort cattle and has seen all kinds of ranch jobs while going to work in some of the biggest pastures in the upper plains. He's willing to try anything asked in various terrain, alone or in company, and will carefully pick his way through rough country. He has a big walk, likes to work and is very kind.
He's been used on ranch rodeo teams and has show experience in Western Dressage, earning him year-end recognition through the Jockey Club's Thoroughbred Incentive Program in the Western Performance division.
As a crowd favorite at the 2016 Retired Racehorse Project Makeover in the Working Ranch Horse section, Quaint and Dale were the only competitors to successfully rope both steers and wowed the audience as he worked cattle down the fence, putting in some incredible turn-backs for a stock horse of any breed!
Quaint has drawn attention with his displays of bridleless roping and working of gates. But if you are more comfortable using a bridle, he will go in anything: snaffle, curb, or even a halter. We can visualize him as a wonderful hunting mount and he's shown an aptitude for fences when free-jumping. Hounds under-foot and whips cracking overhead shouldn't be a problem, if his easy acceptance of roping cattle is any indication. He has the tall, dark and handsome looks favored in the field or show ring.
He is well broken, but by no means a beginner's horse. His wheels are always turning and there's gas in the tank when needed, with enough personality and sense of humor for an entire stable.
Around the barn, he'll stand tied all day to anything and is great to shoe. He's easy to catch and loads well. He has no vices, loves attention, and gets along well out in the pasture with other horses.
